Fettuccine Alfredo Recipe - American Version

Serves: 4 (main dish) to 8 (side dish)
- Serves 4 to 6
- 1 lb pasta of your choice
- ½ cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- In a saucepan over medium low heat, melt the butter;
- Add the garlic and saute until it becomes fragrant;
- Add the cream and season with salt and pepper;
- Simmer for 8 minutes until it thickens;
- Meanwhile cook the pasta in boiling water until it's al dente (tender but with a bite to it);
- When pasta is done, drain and add the sauce;
- Start adding the parmeggiano and a little bit of the water if ithe pasta becomes dry;
- Continue tossing until the butter, cheese and starchy water become a velvety sauce;
- Toss well and serve immediately.
